Adi Assis, a poet, earns his living as a computer programmer. Born in Tel Aviv, studied philosophy at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and is a graduate of the Helicon School of Poetry. His debut poetry collection firearms was published in 2009. His second manuscript of verse, Child, was awarded the 2012 ACUM Natan Yonatan Prize and was published in 2013, when he was the recipient of the Teva Prize for his poetry. He was the artistic co-director of the Shahar International Poetry Festival, and one of the founders of the Israeli Poet’s Struggle movement, which promotes poetry and poets in Israel. He resides in Givataim with his wife, the poet Anat Levin. |
